Dear Friend,
I recently heard a very successful business man speak at a big online event, there were over 3000 people on the conference call.
The guy said something that stunned me: that when in business someone says they want to help you, that’s creepy! He believes that everyone only wants to make a profit for themselves, and that’s the only reason why they’re talking to you… I was reading the comments in the event chat, and many people were agreeing, typing in the words “creepy” and “scary” and “weird”.
I thought I could learn something from this entrepreneur, but realised that our mindsets are so different, that his approach could not possibly fit in with my world.
There are of course a lot of people who (still) think in terms of competition, of scarcity, of having to grab whatever they can. And they expect others to be like that, because they’re projecting their own fears and aggression onto everyone else.
But there’s also an ever-growing number of people who understand that they will get what they put out there, mirrored back at them.
When business – and any other form of relationship, for that matter – is done correctly, there must be a balance, an exchange of energy, a win-win situation. If not, it’s not business – or a relationship – it’s fraud, abuse, coercion.
You might recall, I told you about a big business event I went to in November last year, that I thought was enough to restore anyone’s faith in humanity? It was bursting full with people who make it their lives’ purpose to help others. Well I went to another one yesterday. Different people, different focus, different size, different industry… same outlook on life. Beautiful human beings from all over the world, doing something great for themselves and for others at the same time. And they were getting emotional as they were talking about how they love to help others, and everyone in the audience was getting emotional too.
That’s a 100% my thing. It’s so true, it’s so natural. When they’re not too traumatised or too ill for it, humans love to help humans. Humans love to be part of something bigger, of a community. It’s our nature. That’s what our souls love. When we don’t, it’s because our traumatised or ill minds are taking over.
The main distinctive trait of any thriving, constructive, and lasting community of the future will be that the members freely choose to be part of it because it feels right. They’re already here, these new tribes, and they’re held together by real, shared values and free will.
What I’m observing is that the old-style, manipulative kind of groups we’ve known so far, are losing ground every day. And that’s why they’re all going crazy right now. Governments, religious institutions, and financial institutions, are desperately lashing out like the big dying monsters that they are. And this extends to abusive workplaces, schools, families.
Self-proclaimed authority in general is feeling threatened at its core.
At this stage of our evolution, we’re becoming less and less willing to put up with control, with restrictions, with being told who to be and what to do. That’s the kind of things that our traumatised and ill minds will put up with, but our free, all-knowing souls cannot even conceive of.
We have unprecedented times ahead of us. They can feel scary, but there is a safe way of navigating them. The way is to be fully true to ourselves.
Choose – or build – your community very carefully, beautiful soul ❤️ I am very grateful that you are part of mine!
